Images from woodlands in England, Wales and Scotland. Meanwhile, some other Scottish woodland scenes can be found in the Mountain and Moorland galleries for the locations where they occur because they are intimately associated with those environments.
The birds in this gallery were all in fact photographed in small areas of woodland which are really part of wetland areas, but they are included here because woodland is their essential habitat.
On the other hand some of my dragonfly photographs were taken at woodland ponds, but as these insects are really creatures of wetlands and waterways I have placed them there.
