These images are all from Canada’s Pacific Coast. They were taken in October 2013, five of them on the outskirts of Vancouver, the others in the Great Bear Rainforest. For the latter I was based at Klemtu, the home of a First Nations Community some 500 km north-west of Vancouver and just to the west of the renowned Inside Passage, .
In all, ten of the images depict wildlife: three on Grouse Mountain on the edge of Vancouver and seven in the channels, creeks and forest north of Klemtu. Of the others, four are landscapes which attempt to capture different aspects of the Great Bear Rainforest – the forest itself and the hills which surround it. There is also a landscape which depicts a forest scene from the Vancouver area, and a minimalist image which includes a distant view of the mountains of Vancouver Island with a cloud inversion over the sea.
