Guillemots (1)
Guillemots (1)

A cliff on the small island of Hornoya, just off the town of Vardo, is a major nesting site for large numbers of sea birds: guillemots, razorbills, puffins and shags, as well as the kittiwakes in the two previous images. The birds are easily disturbed by eagles, gyrfalcons and ravens, leaving the cliff en masse and then returning in waves, as here. Most of the birds in this image are guillemots, though a few puffins can also be seen.
