LANDMANNALAUGER: VALLEY
Strictly speaking Landmannalauger is the name just of this valley but it tends to be used also for the surrounding mountains, famed for their colour from the mineral cryolite. It is the starting point for the much-trodden Laugavegur Trail to Thórsmörk and has basic hut accommodation and facilities for camping just beyond the lava field.
