ON THE HESTAGÖTUR RIDGE
This ridge, which descends steeply from the Fimmvorduhals trail to the Krossá River, offers a succession of striking views of this valley and the Mýrdalsjökull icecap beyond it. This image was taken after walking for nearly an hour from where I photographed the glacier (to the right of this viewpoint). The dark crag high up here on the left is a prominent feature in the first image of that.
